Managing multiple vehicles requires quick access to locations, route history, alerts, and statistics without letting data volume slow down daily operations. In this update, we optimized ALTAGAMA GPS to provide smoother GPS tracking, faster reports, and a simpler tracker setup experience.
These improvements help both control centers supervising complete fleets and users connecting and configuring their first GPS tracker.
Smoother GPS tracking for fleets and long route histories
The ALTAGAMA GPS map lets users view tracker locations, review historical routes, and return to real-time GPS tracking within the same workflow.
We improved the loading, updating, and removal of large sets of location points. We also strengthened the transition between route history and the live map so real-time updates can resume more reliably.
In a logistics operation, for example, a dispatcher can review complete routes for several vehicles, identify deviations, and return to current fleet tracking without reloading the entire page. This is especially useful for large fleets and periods containing many GPS records.
Progressive statistics and reports for extended periods
ALTAGAMA GPS statistics turn information received from GPS trackers into data that helps teams analyze vehicle activity and make operational decisions.
Results can now begin appearing progressively while the rest of the request continues processing. This reduces the wait before useful information becomes available when several trackers or extended date ranges are selected.
We also strengthened Excel exports to handle larger volumes of information and generate only the sections that contain results. Fleet managers can use this improvement to prepare monthly reports, compare devices, or analyze operating periods more comfortably.
New users can get started with the ALTAGAMA GPS activity summary.
GPS tracker setup with APN settings and SMS commands
An APN is the setting that allows a GPS tracker to use a mobile network and send locations to ALTAGAMA GPS. We updated the international catalog of countries, mobile operators, and APN settings to make it easier to select the correct information for each SIM card.
The setup screen can use the previously selected country or the user's location as a reference. After an operator is selected, ALTAGAMA GPS displays the available connection values, helping reduce errors during tracker installation.
When SMS delivery is available for the account and device, ALTAGAMA GPS provides a guided panel for sending setup commands. It validates the phone number, confirms the number of commands, displays the progress of each message, reports errors, and lets the user cancel the process.
This feature helps technicians and installers prepare trackers in the field without manually sending every command, especially when equipping several vehicles.
More accurate GPS alerts, sensors, and geofences
Alerts notify users when an important condition occurs, such as a sensor status change or a vehicle entering or leaving an area. Geofences, known as zones in ALTAGAMA GPS, define allowed or restricted areas on the map.
We strengthened the interpretation of sensor events and zone evaluation, including situations close to area boundaries. This provides more consistent results when monitoring access points, yards, authorized routes, or risk areas.
A company can use these features to detect when a vehicle leaves its operating area, verify arrival at a site, or respond to a sensor status change.
Greater reliability for compatible GPS trackers
We improved how ALTAGAMA GPS processes information sent by different tracker models and corrected a specific message interpretation case.
The goal is more reliable reception of locations and events from devices that are already compatible with the platform. No tracker reconfiguration is required to benefit from this improvement.
More robust purchases and renewals
During a purchase or renewal, ALTAGAMA GPS now recognizes more clearly when an operation returns incomplete information or reports an error.
Users receive a more consistent result so they can confirm the purchase or identify that the operation needs attention before service activation or renewal continues.
A more comfortable assistant and consistent visual customization
The assistant available in different areas of ALTAGAMA GPS now includes a resizable writing area, a clearer action for deleting a conversation, and improvements to the presentation of sources and references.
We also unified how each account's custom colors are applied. Companies using their own visual identity can now see it represented more consistently across buttons, menus, and navigation elements.
How to apply these features in a real operation
A user can configure a tracker with the operator's APN settings, confirm that it appears on the map, create alerts and zones for important events, and then use statistics or reports to analyze the operation.
The device menu provides access to tools related to tracking, route history, and setup.
Technical summary for IT teams
- Statistics requests can deliver results progressively, and exports handle larger information sets more effectively.
- The map improves the handling of numerous location points and the recovery of real-time tracking after reviewing route history.
- APN setup uses an updated international catalog.
- The SMS command panel provides phone validation, per-command status, and cancellation when the feature is enabled.
- The improvements are delivered directly through ALTAGAMA GPS and do not require a migration to use maps, reports, alerts, or tracker setup.
