Managing GPS devices involves reviewing costs, querying useful periods, recovering access, and working across different screen sizes. This ALTAGAMA GPS update adds local currency price references, expands statistics to 31 days, and improves how the map and its details adapt to phones and tablets.
It also introduces informative user messages, account recovery through a tracker's phone number, confirmation before canceling email alerts, and several improvements to SMS, offline alerts, custom logos, GPS Week Number Rollover compatibility, and H02 activity messages.
Local currency price reference
Subscription options began displaying an estimated local currency reference alongside the base price. This helps users understand an approximate cost without manually converting it before reviewing payment.
The local amount is an estimate. The final amount, charge currency, and any conversion or fee depend on the information presented during payment and the financial institution's terms. Users should therefore review the final value before confirming a subscription or message purchase.
For a business preparing a budget, the local reference speeds up an initial comparison while the base price remains the source for authorizing the expense.
GPS statistics for periods of up to 31 days
The maximum date range for statistics was extended to 31 days. A manager can analyze approximately one month of routes, alerts, speeds, sensors, or other available indicators without necessarily splitting the period into several shorter queries.
This supports monthly closing, productivity review, vehicle comparison, and operational reporting. Specific statistics depend on information received and the features configured for each device.
Selecting a longer period does not create missing data. If a tracker stopped reporting or a sensor was not configured, results contain only the samples available.
Informative messages for account users
Administrators can set an informative message for a user. The text appears in a visible area below the platform title and can communicate instructions or context related to that access.
A company may use it to tell a driver whom to contact, remind a supervisor about a procedure, or share an operational note with a delegated user. The message is not an automated alert or emergency channel; it is information the person sees while using ALTAGAMA GPS.
Messages should remain concise and should not contain passwords, credentials, or confidential information that should not remain visible in the recipient's account.
Recovering a username with a tracker's phone number
Username recovery can now search for an account using the phone number assigned to a tracker whenever that information is registered in ALTAGAMA GPS. If a valid relationship is found, the reminder is delivered to the account owner's email address.
This helps when someone remembers the number of the SIM or line used by a device but not the email address used for registration. To protect identity, the flow shows only a partially hidden address and sends the information to the registered inbox.
The search requires the number to be entered correctly, belong to an active device, and be associated with the corresponding owner. It does not change the password or send credentials to the tracker's phone number.
Confirmation before canceling email alerts
Links for unsubscribing from alert emails now display a confirmation screen before applying the change. This reduces accidental cancellations caused by opening a link without intending to complete the action.
After confirmation, ALTAGAMA GPS removes that email address from notifications related to the device. Other recipients or delivery channels configured for the alert may continue to operate.
For an organization, the additional step helps preserve important notice continuity and makes the involved email address and device clearer.
Map and details better adapted to mobile devices
The desktop map interface and detail panels were adjusted to respond better on small screens. Layout, controls, and information areas make better use of available space on phones and tablets.
A supervisor can review positions, open details, and work with the map during a site visit without relying exclusively on a large screen. The amount of visible information still varies with device size and orientation.
Small custom logos and visible updates
Loading of custom logos smaller than 100 pixels was corrected. Compact brand assets can be used without their dimensions preventing them from being displayed.
Logo replacement was also improved. A browser can identify the new version and avoid continuing to show an older locally saved image for too long.
These changes support accounts with custom branding: users see the intended identity, and visual updates appear more consistently. The image should still remain legible and use proportions suited to the available area.
Change to available SMS channels
ALTAGAMA GPS removed account-configured custom SMS gateways. From this update onward, SMS actions within the platform depend on the channels ALTAGAMA GPS makes available for the user, destination, and corresponding function.
The change simplifies delivery behavior and avoids external configurations that can be difficult to diagnose when incompatible. Organizations that previously used their own gateway need to review the supported channel before relying on an SMS workflow.
Availability may depend on permissions, balance, limits, country, mobile operator, and a valid phone number. An SMS also does not guarantee that a tracker executes a command; that depends on the device, mobile network, and instruction sent.
Corrected SMS delivery from the map
Sending SMS through ALTAGAMA GPS from map actions was corrected. When a user has access to the channel and selects a compatible instruction, delivery can be initiated in the context of the device currently being reviewed.
This reduces steps for a technician who needs to communicate with a tracker while checking its latest position. The phone number, command, and expected effect should be verified before sending to avoid an incorrect instruction.
More reliable offline device alerts
Delivery of alerts related to offline devices was corrected. These rules can report when a tracker exceeds the configured time without sending a position or activity message.
An offline alert can help identify lack of coverage, an empty battery, disconnected power, or a device interruption. It does not automatically determine the cause; it indicates that ALTAGAMA GPS did not receive the expected communication within the defined period.
GPS Week Number Rollover compatibility
Some older trackers may interpret dates incorrectly after the GPS Week Number Rollover, a periodic reset of the week counter used by certain devices. ALTAGAMA GPS added compatibility to recognize affected positions and adjust their dates consistently.
This prevents a valid message from appearing many years away from its actual period and helps preserve historical order. The correction applies when the data allow the problem to be identified. It does not fix signal issues or replace a manufacturer update when the device requires one.
H02 protocol activity messages
H02 compatibility was expanded to recognize keep-alive or activity messages. These messages let a tracker maintain communication and indicate that it remains connected without necessarily representing a new position or movement.
Recognizing them helps interpret device status and avoids treating a maintenance signal as an operational event. Available information depends on the H02 model and its configuration.
How this supports a monthly operation
At month-end, a coordinator can query up to 31 days of statistics, review costs with a local reference, and share instructions through informative messages. If the username is forgotten, recovery can begin with the registered tracker phone number.
During daily operations, the adaptable map supports phone use, logos display the intended identity, supported SMS messages can be sent from the device context, and offline alerts report missing communication. GPS date and H02 activity improvements make history and status more consistent for compatible equipment.
